This book comprises two time periods. The initial interval from WWII to 1989 is reflected in the first edition. While it took ten years to craft and publish that book, following the 1989 interview, a great deal of additional study and understanding has accrued. The past 35 years have provided a wealth of additional knowledge and insight into how our world actually operates. It is eminently possible to acquire this knowledge. However, as E. Martin “Marty” Schotz has observed, “Knowledge is not something which everyone wants. It is difficult to acquire, and in order to know, one must have a desire to know…. To acquire knowledge one must go through the laborious process of digesting the work of others and make it one’s own.”1
Fletcher Prouty’s first-hand account of his involvement with elements of the U.S. government’s subterranean world that took shape in the decades following World War II illuminates our country’s living, albeit hidden, history. This knowledge and history belong to all of us. Some of the understanding gleaned since 1989 is expanded on in the new 196-page Notes section and the 36-page Bibliography.
The world of Official Narratives runs on cover stories (lies). The business of managing perceptions is big business. While 24/7/365 control and influence of perceptions—by multi-layered double-binds, catch 22s, and contronymal cages—hides in plain sight, it is possible to see beyond the mirrors and screens. A purpose of this book is to provoke questions and encourage curiosity.
As Joseph Green succinctly encapsulates this: “Conspiracy theory is just political analysis the state doesn’t like.” Green 2025.
It is all too easy to give in to the overwhelm of hopelessness and a belief of being powerless. To dispel this enchantment, remember that each of us is answerable to our Creator. Each one of us has an immutable relationship with the source of our existence. The ineffable mystery we each embody is eternally framed in the wonder of whatever is really going on here. What’s more, these lives we’ve been given are about so much more than just our own souls discoveries. Reconnecting with the bedrock relationships we were born into with all those of our species, as well as all Life exploring itself on Grandmother Earth, provides for all our intangible needs.
Speaking about our Indigenous Ancestors, John Trudell pointed out how in the experience of our lineage from the very beginning, we are borrowing today from the past and the future. “The reason for being was to keep the balance …. this was … what I will call a spiritual perception of reality. And so because of the spiritual perception of reality they understood that life was about responsibility. It wasn’t about the abstraction of freedom-it was about responsibility.” Trudell 2001.
Recognizing the intelligence we have been given by our Creator and using it as clearly and coherently as we possibly can is the antidote to the entire techno-logic perceptional reality that is based upon death. The eventual, inevitable outcome of such reality is oblivion and annihilation. It is our responsibility as human beings to see and acknowledge this and then act upon this understanding.
